The driving concept of TROCAR is to investigate the fundamentals of the epidemiology of new highly virulent multiresistant strains. The project will focus on three major strategic aims: Definition of the major high-risk resistant clones; Genomic and proteomic approaches to investigating specific traits in comparison with non-epidemic clones; And, the development of bioinformatics tools to fully exploit the genomics data.

After three years of intense hard working the TROCAR project has finally reached its final stage. At this point, the TROCAR consortium has decided to put together the investigations and results collected from all partners and disseminate them to the scientific community in a free-for-all conference to be held in Barcelona during the 5th and 6th of June.
